For Shan and the rest that are wondering what I did last night…

Okay, so yesterday I was in a dilemma because hubby wanted to go out for wings and beer.  Alot of you said that I should just go for it.  However with weigh in looming today I just couldn’t.  I tried, but couldn’t do it.  Thanks Jo for reminding me how sodium packed my wings would have been.  So I got a chicken sandwich (hold the mayo with extra lettuce and tomato), french fries and only 1 beer.  Caloric intake for the day was 1280.  Not bad but I only showed a 1/2 pound loss this morning.  Oh well…time to move on :)

Have a great Friday and a Happy Halloween!

Chicken wings, beer, and french fries. Did I mention beer?

Okay buddies I’m gonna need your help to get me through tonight.  I just got off the phone with my hubby and since date night has been switched this week we are finding ourselves childless for the night.  Unfortunately we are both craving wings and beer.  See the place we go only has wings on a Thursday and since the smoking ban was passed we can’t go when we have Paige with us.  Usually date night is on a Wednesday so I have avoided both the wings and the beer.  Doesn’t look like it is going to happen tonight.   The really sucky part is I usually use my cheat day on Saturday.  I didn’t last Saturday and it isn’t in the plans for this Saturday.  Sooo, technically I could cheat tonight.  But tomorrow is weigh in!!!!!  What’s a girl to do?

Lots to say but at a loss for words…

Actually I just don’t know where to start.  I know what I want to cover so let me start with a list of that stuff.  Doctor’s scale, chocolate chip cookies, mental health day, sore legs, weigh in tomorrow, team activity.  I think that is it, but who knows.  Okay…ready….begin!

1.  I went to the doctor on Tuesday and was a bit scared to step on their scale.  See, I haven’t been to the doctor in about 18 months (past due for my annual) and have just been relying on my scale.  However, I became obsessed with my scale and had hubby hide it for the past week.  Turns out that the dreaded doctors scale became my friend on Tuesday…told me I was three pounds down from last weigh in on Friday at home!

2.  Chocolate Chip cookies:  Short story…husband and daughter decided to make cookies Tuesday night.  They filled the house with such a delicious sent.  AND I found that I could work one cookie a day into my food intake!  Only 48 calories and soooo worth it.  Nice and warm and gooey!

3.  Mental Health day:  Sooooo, on Tuesday the doc said that I needed a mental health day.  A day for me to do whatever I wished.  Interesting but what was one day going to do?  Let me tell you friends, it did me a world of good.  I got up and got hubby off to work, did my workout until my daughter got up.  Ran her to school and came home.  I vegged like I have never vegged before.  I read an entire book.  I got a bubble bath.  I read some more.  I watched tv.  I LOVED IT!  One day was plenty though, I am refreshed and I am back full force!

4.  Sore legs:  The Wildcats team challenge this week is to do a set of 10 leg exercises every time you go to the bathroom….MY LEGS ARE KILLING ME!!!!  (Enough said).

5.  Weigh In tomorrow…yep, tomorrow is team weigh in.  I’m anxious, I’m excited, and I’m scared spitless!  Haven’t weighed in on my own scale all week.  I have no idea where I stand.  I feel good about the choices that I have made, but I don’t know where I stand with them.  I have been on a plateau for seven weeks now and it’s getting old.  Oh, I lie, I broke the plateau last week with a one pound gain.  Another reason to be very skeptical tomorrow.

6. Team activity….I just have to say once again how proud I am of the Wildcat team members!  You guys are so awesome and I love the support that you all give to each other.  Now, stop reading blogs and go do some squats!

 Happy Thursday all!

There is light at the end of the tunnel!

Okay, well actually I just realized that there is light between my thighs….but I thought the tunnel might be a bit “catchier.”  So I was headed into the bathroom at work and when you open the door there is a mirror straight ahead.  With the bathroom light off and the office light on, I was back lit and was amazed to see the light between my thighs!  Which to me translates into there being a light at the end of the tunnel as well.

I have been getting really discouraged lately because of this stupid plateau that I have been on.  I guess I have now learned my lesson and not curse the plateau because the scale demons decided to bless me with an extra pound last week.  So when desperate times call for desperate measures I have my husband hide the stupid scale and not let it out of hiding until Friday morning when I weigh in.  I feel so much lighter without that monkey on my back every day….several times a day.  I have also upped my water intake, commited to logging my food again, and have called on my wonderful team for support.

I am ready to make this week the newest fresh start possible and wish for you to join me. :)

 Have a Marvelous Monday Buddies!

If you’re voting for Kama…

I posted a blog earlier today about Kama and I challenging each other.  Well, she set up my challenge in the Wildcats forum and I’m here to let all of Kama’s supporters know that she is being challenged to keep her sodium at or under 2,000 mg a day.  Make sure you visit her and cheer her on!!!!

Who are you going to vote for…me or Kama?

Vote Pictures, Images and Photos” alt=”" /> Hey folks,

Kama and I are getting ready to challenge each other and we need your support!  (Subliminal message is “pick me, pick me, pick me!).  Our challenge will be announced tonight.  Check the blogs and forums often to see how we are doing and to put in your vote!!!!

Gotta pee? Well, it’s gonna cost you

Afternoon Buddyslimmers!  Hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday!  As some of you know and some of you may not the Wildcats have split their team into the Tigers and the Lions.  So we have some inner team competition.  Anyway, this weeks competition is to do lower body exercises every time you go to the bathroom.  A set of 10 will let you empty your bladder.  10 squats, 10 leg lifts, 10 whatever :)  I have now officially opened up the challenge to all in Buddyslim land.  So drink your water so you have to go to the bathroom and get your squats in!

Has this really made national news?! Really??????

Hey Buddyslimmers,

Because I live in my own little world I’m having a hard time thinking something that is happening in my little town has made national news.  However, I did just read that the person involved has been contacted by both Dr. Phil and by Dan Rather.

Has any of you heard about the lady that wore her loaded Glock 26, openly on her hip to her 6 year olds soccer game?  Well….up until the beginning of school she used to be my daughter’s day care provider.  Anyway, I just can’t believe that this is getting as much attention as our daily newspaper is suggesting.

I would love to hear from any of you that have heard this snippet of news and what your takes are on it.

Maybe later I will come back and blog about some “insider” facts that I have, but for now I would like your objective opinions.

Thanks!!

Nicole would like me to introduce you to her little miracle…

Good Morning Buddyslimmers!

I just got off the phone with Nicole.  She had her baby via C-section yesterday at 1:30.  She asked me to introduce Mikayla Robyn to her Buddyslim family.  Mikayla is 5 lbs, 3 oz and is 17 1/2 ” long.  Mom and baby are both doing well. :)

You never know what your blogs might mean to someone

Good Morning All!

I just wanted to take a moment to remind you of what your words can do in the lives of others without you even knowing it.  A while back (probably a couple of months ago) someone wrote a blog about wearing red lipstick.  The jist of the blog was that it was something that she wouldn’t normally do, and by “stepping out of the box” she gave herself more confidence and opened the door for more possibilities.

Well, that blog really stuck with me.  Please bear with me as I tell you how.  On Monday, I wore a pair of grey dress pants with a green turtleneck sweater.  I got out of the car when I got home and my husband not only told me how good I looked, but proceded to whistle loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear.  LOL.  So then yesterday I wore a pair of black dress pants and a light pink sweater that was a bit snug and a bit more low cut than I usually wear.  I made sure to “redo” my make up before I got home to see what kind of reaction I could get from Tim with that.  Well, without going into too much detail, he kept sending me text messages (even though we were in the same house) that were VERY arrousing to say the least.  Well, you can guess what we ended up doing last night ;)  This morning I woke up and wanted this to go three days in a row.  I checked out my closet and nothing looked as good as everything else did.  Soooo, I went to the back of the closest (you know where the things are kept that I may someday wear?) and found my black, leather, knee high, high heeled boots, a black skirt with white flowers embroidered on the bottom and a low cut snug black shirt.  My first thought…There ain’t no way I’m leaving the house wearing this…I would never wear something like this!  That’s when the Red Lipstick blog hit me.  So off I went to get my shower while contemplating this.  After the shower I decided, “Why not?”  Isn’t this like the Red Lipstick?  So I did my hair, put on my make up and then got dressed.  I didn’t look in the mirror until I was completely finished, thinking that I was certainly going to have to come up with a back up plan.  Guess what buddies?  I wore the outfit!  I love the outfit!  I got checked out while pumping gas in the outfit!  My boss came in to work and said that it certainly isn’t what she is used to seeing me wear, but she loves me in it!  Hmmmmm….wonder what kind of text messages I may get tonight?  LOL!

So to wrap up this long winded blog…I wanted to thank whoever wrote that blog about the Red Lipstick.  Your words have definitely impacted me and I feel that I am a person that is growing more and more comfortable with myself because of them.
